A household epidemic of tropical sprue.

چکیده
Tropical sprue has been described as occurring in both endemic and epidemic forms (Walters, 1947; Ayrey, 1948; Stefanini, 1948; Baker, 1957; Baker, Mathan, and Joseph, 1962). Bahr (1915) mentions 'sprue houses' where successive tenants were attacked with sprue, and records several cases occurring among members of one family. This paper presents epidemiological, clinical and laboratory data on a relatively isolated household of 27 people, of whom more than half developed tropical sprue over a period of three months.
